Not Broken?
This concept has been a constant theme running through my work.
In a consumer society, if a thing is broken it is useless.
Earth and the universe contradict this: if something is broken it is reused as something else. Raw materials sift like dust, adrift, yet on-hand in an unwasteful universe.
Not broken, just in a state of endless transition.
Eggshell—a material I use for its many qualities, as well as its symbolism—is not broken.
Buckminster Fuller puts it succinctly: “Nature is always most economical.”
